KASHGAI carpet (Iran), 3rd third of the 20th century Dimensions: 151 x 110cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. An oblong royal blue serrated counter-field covered with a semiset of stylized flowers supports three linked, navy and ivory, hooked and crenellated lozenge medallions adorned with Medes stars, speckles, small birds and entomic central shapes. The brick field is planted with spandrels. Cream border with multicolored fantasy animals. Serrated highlights and external chess pieces in positive/negative. Beautiful ethnic graphics.
