BERGAME carpet (Asia Minor), early 20th century
Dimensions: 131 x 81cm.
Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing.
An old-rose field with starry florets supports a long rectangular chestnut medallion with kotchaks, adorned with four pink hexagons with cruciform decoration. Ivory border with stylized flowers, flanked by a chestnut counter-border with polychrome broken ribbon. Beautiful ethnic decoration.
