BERGAME carpet (Asia Minor), early 20th century
Dimensions: 126 x 76cm.
Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing.
An old rose field supports a long rectangular chestnut medallion with kotchaks, adorned with four pink hexagons with cruciform decoration. Boxed border of multicolored octagons adorned with Medes stars, flanked by a chestnut counter-border with polychrome "S" garlands. Beautiful ethnic decoration.
