TIBETAN throne carpet (Tibet), 1st third of the 20th century
Dimensions: 93 x 90cm.
Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing.
A bluish border with a garland of flowers surrounds the inner cherry border with a series of polychrome incense burners. Antique pink field with Asian interlacing highlighted by a Greek frieze. A fine example of Tibetan craftsmanship.
