Christophe FRATIN (1801-1864). Black marble mantel set including a clock surmounted by a brown patina bronze group depicting a deer attacked by dogs signed "FRATIN 1832" on the terrace.
Early edition cast iron, circa 1860, circular dial with black background and gilded Roman numerals (VI missing) signed LEMERLE-CHARPENTIER Bronzier Rue Charlot 8 in Paris.
Matched with a pair of bronze bowls on finely decorated molded marble bases.

Charpentier began making bronze mounts in Paris (rue d'Orléans in the Marais) in 1834. He exhibited at the Exposition Nationale des Produits de l'Agriculture et de l'Industrie in Paris.
