Indian work (Jodhpur) - Biceps bracelet on velvet and gold core (minimum 18K, 750 thousandths) punctuated with five oval Swat emeralds engraved with floral motifs, set with fifteen rose-cut diamonds and eight cultured pearls.
PB: 58 grs.
Late 18th century (the cultured pearls are modern)
Comment: The interest of this bracelet lies in its emeralds from the Swat Valley (present-day Pakistan), containing a chromium and iron content that gives them exceptional brilliance and intensity. The oval cut and flower petal engraving enhance their deep, brilliant green hue, as do the "gardens" (natural inclusions) that make them so distinctive.
