Comment: Created by the brilliant designer Gérald GENTA, the Royal Oak model saw the light of day in 1972. Inspired by Royal Navy warships and scuba divers, this model has an uncommonly legendary feel, and stands as an almost "eternal" icon of haute horlogerie. The model presented is a 1972 Royal Oak "Jumbo" in steel A series, reference 5402 ST. This model was produced between 1972 and 1993, in 1937 examples, including 490 for the year 1972.
