A graduate of the THUR workshops in Paris, Abderrahmane Ouardane devoted his first exhibitions to the theme of the nude. In 1980, during a trip to the High Atlas, he met the "Femme d'Imilchil", an effigy that would influence his work. His exchanges with the modernists of the "Casablanca School", such as Belkahia, Melehi, Chabâa and other avant-garde pioneers, inspired him to experiment in a spirit of renewal. Ouardane's art is rooted in the vernacular sign, transcribing timeless imaginary worlds.
