RARE gilt silver TERRINE (925). PARIS, PUIFORCAT, ap. 1879 (Hermès). Standing on four scrolled feet, with two handles, the body is decorated with an appliqué of oak branches around plain cartouches stamped with a crown and supported by lions. The lid has a molded, projecting rim and is decorated with channels enhanced by rocaille motifs. The handle is in the shape of an artichoke, accompanied by a crayfish, a lizard, mushrooms including a morel and a pea branch with open pods. Fitted with a plain lining with molded contours and scrolled gripping lugs. Hermes head export hallmark and 925 title hallmark. Marked PUIFORCAT / PARIS. Width: 36 cm - Weight: 5150 g.
