Sophia Vari is a Greek artist who was born in Athens and died in Monaco. She was the wife and muse of Colombian artist Fernando Botero. She is best known for her monumental, polychrome paintings and sculptures. Since the 1970s, her works have been exhibited and acclaimed worldwide through exhibitions, public commissions and participation in major international fairs. Sophia Vari is also renowned for her jewelry creations, which she names after Greek mythology.
