PINOTEAU Hervé. Le Sacre de S. M. l'Empereur Napoléon. Notes historiques. Paris, éditions du Palais-Royal, 1969; small folio, cover decorated with gilded Napoleonic arms, green cloth folder, green cloth case decorated with framed gilded fillets, bee at corners, Napoleon's arms in center. Reprint of the original, which is impossible to find, as it was published over ten years and completed after the Emperor's fall. It is given by H. Pinoteau with notes. The original engravings, numbering 39, plus 13 for the decorations of Notre-Dame, are very well reproduced. The work is of rare technical perfection. One of 1,500 numbered copies on pure vellum ragpaper, sent by the annotator to Mr. and Mrs. Garout. Feuille de Douai, no. 574, November 29, 1804, announcing the news of the coronation (4 ff. in-8, flyleaf).
