After MICHEL-ANGE (1475-1564)
Lorenzo de' Medici in armor
Bronze proof with brown patina, signed Raingo.
Height: 40 cm
The original is kept in the Medici Chapel in Florence. The Raingo brothers, based at 8 rue de Touraine in Paris, were initially known as watchmakers, but by 1841 had added art and furniture bronzes to their catalog. By 1860, Raingo was supplying bronzes to Emperor Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie, who purchased a large number of collector's items. Initially specializing in antique reproductions, they went on to publish contemporary artists such as Carrier-Belleuse, Moreau and Pradier.
