A LARGE SINO-TIBETAN GILT BRONZE SEATED BUDDHA, 19TH CENTURY
A gilt bronze figure cast seated in paryankasna on a beaded double-lotus throne, his right hand in bhumisparsa mudra and the left in dhyana mudra holding a pagoda, wearing a close-fitting sanghati decorated with incised foliate hem, pleated end draped over his left shoulder, portrayed with a serene face framed by a long pendulous earlobes, finely arched eyebrows, eyes downcast in contemplation, and slightly-smiling bow-shaped mouth, hair neatly arranged in rows of small whorls.
