A BRONZE FIGURE OF BHAIRAVA, NEPAL, 18TH CENTURY
A bronze sculpture of a wrathful deity from the Hindu pantheon of Nepal. The bronze of the deity with a third eye on the forehead is standing on a lotus base together with his Dakini. This tantric deity is perhaps a certain wrathful aspect of Vishnu as generally known by the name Bhairava. He has wild hair rising up behind crown and holding an axe.
Height: 15 cm.
