A JAPANESE VINTAGE DISPLAY CABINET, SHOWA PERIOD 1926-1989)
A one of a kind unique vintage display cabinet. The shape of the cabinet depicts the rising sun with a seagull flying in front of it.
The frame of the cabinet is lacquered in a brown color with some silver sprinkles.
The backside of the cabinet is lacquered red and has one black lacquer shelf hidden behind a matte gold lacquer ornament in the shape of a seagull.
The rounded shape of the cabinet is accentuated with matte gold detailing.
The lower part of the cabinet is very decorative, as well as practical; with a black lacquer drawer decorated with chrysanthemum flowers and a compartment behind 2 black lacquered doors decorated as well with chrysanthemum flowers. The signature of the artist on the right door, its reads 'Made by Tamayoshi' 玉芳作.
With original rectangular shaped hardware.
The cabinet is in good condition with some small signs of age and wear.
Showa-period (1926-1989).
