Two fragmentary blue-backed tiles, Iran, 17th - 18th century
Siliceous ceramic decorated with black lines and colored glazes. The larger depicts a palm in flight on a cobalt-blue background, the bird surrounded by blooming lotus flowers and budding blossoms. The small, thick fragment is decorated with a fleuron in the center of tchi clouds.
18.2 x 22.9 cm; 12.8 x 13 cm
Glaze chips, splinters, crack on the smallest.
One tile with black line decoration representing a base of hyacinths, 23.5 x 23.3 cm, glaze chips, edge chips, very faded decoration.
