Félicien ROPS (1833-1898). The scandal. Color engraving signed in the plate and signed in pencil lower right by the engraver Albert Bertrand. On the back, a letter from Félicien Rops to Mr. Pellet expressing his satisfaction with Mr. Bertrand's engraving work. This letter is known to exist in the archives, and is reproduced in the book: "M Exsteens L'œuvre gravé et lithographie de F.R. T.IV Catalogue de reproduction Toms. Pellet. 1928.". It would appear that we are in the presence of this small original document, the font is absolutely identical to the print referenced in the literature and small tests in the workshops confirm that it is ink. The hypothesis is very favorable, but we leave the final assessment to the buyer. Dimensions: 27.5 x 35 cm.
