KACHAN carpet (Iran), late 20th century Dimensions: 387 x 295cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on cotton backing. A beautiful apricot, ruby and bluish vegetal rosette and its pendants emerge from a hexagonal sky field with rich floral scrolls in multicolored convolutions. Four large apricot spandrels with plant scrolls and arabesques frame the whole. Large sky border with polychrome corollas in full bloom on interlacing plant stems, flanked by six navy and cream counter-borders with a series of florets. Pleasant palette and great presence.
