Height 160 - Base width 81 - Base depth 53 cm --- Patrick GUEHO, born 1962 In his work as a stone chiseler, Patrick Gueho draws inspiration from ancestral Breton and Celtic themes to bring stone to life, with a view to combining it with other materials such as bronze or glass. bronze or glass. He sculpts ancient motifs inspired by folk art through the ages with a contemporary vision. From granite to marble, brass to schist, he works the material to travel back to Celtic times, mainly the Latin style. Curves, volutes and spirals are timeless. They come to life in a variety of forms, invading our intimacy and stirring the imagination. They can be musical sculptures or works of art for both indoor and outdoor spaces. The spiral, one of the oldest and most universal forms, takes us on an artistic journey to the center of ourselves. From the earliest Neolithic engravings to contemporary creations, the spiral is shown, hidden and discovered by those who follow its path. Self-taught, he sculpts architectural details and popular motifs in a variety of materials throughout the ages. A former stonemason in heritage restoration, the creation of contemporary works of ancestral inspiration is a logical extension of his interest in materials, which led him to train in bronze work.
