PAULIN NIKOLLI (1969) "The Prehistoric Animal Large acrylic on canvas, signed and located middle right. Provenance: acquired directly from the artist in 2016 by the current owner in Nice. Exhibitions: - Work exhibited at Galerie Ferrero, NIce 2014/2015 - FIAC Paris 2015 - Work awarded First Prize for painting at Espace Cardin 2015 Dimensions : 112 x 197 cm Albanian-born painter Paulin Nikolli is one of the best-known Ecole de Nice artists, thanks in particular to a report in the New York Times. In 2015, after exhibiting at Galerie Ferrero in Nice, he took part in the FIAC week in Paris and was awarded the Premier Prix d'Espace Pierre Cardin in painting. A free electron who flies over the Côte d'Azur with the spirit of a Chagall-style hero, Paulin Nikolli invents his own colorful world between satire and corrosive humor. A self-proclaimed "street artist", he swears by his artistic freedom and the aplomb it affords him. Vacillating between Figuration Libre and Street-art, his singular pictorial language thumbs its nose at convention and the prevailing neo-puritanism.
