Ancient Olympic Games/ Terracotta/
The two runners on the obstacle
Terracotta sculpture
Size: 49 x 55 x 30 cm
Accident and restoration
With this superb piece, we can imagine what the ancient games were like: young, handsome, naked athletes, elbow-to-elbow in a race... Is it the finish line and a sprint? No matter, it's removed...The runner on the left has lost his left arm over time, so a repair is imperative, but even with this handicap, we perceive the profound soul of this work.
