COUBERTIN (Baron Pierre de) (1863-1937). Extremely rare copy of the original edition of "Universités Transatlantiques" by Pierre de Coubertin, 1890, Hachette, 380 pages, 19x12. Paperback copy (incompletely cut), with a splendid 5-line dedication signed and dated by the Baron: "Pour le Comte et la Comtesse et Mademoiselle de Kergorlay, souvenir de 9 jours de roulis que leur société rendit inoubliable à l'auteur...". 1/7/1890. One of his crossings to the New World. One of a kind. TBE. Is this the deputy of Haute-Loire? The Kergorlay family mansion is in Chaillot and can be visited. When the nobility of France make a crossing, the wake is beautiful... Perhaps it has something to do with his magnificent, little-known and forgotten novel by Georges Hohrod (already):" Le roman d'un rallié" (1899-1902) ?
