A handsome collection containing the first editions of the first three texts. Puységur's work appeared in 1784-1785, and the author describes the phenomena he calls artificial somnambulism and reveals the main signs of hypnosis. He discerns the links between patients and caregivers, which he calls Rapports ("Transfers" in the opinion of Ellen Berger, La Découverte de l'inconscient, p. 63 and following).
