REPUBLICAN CALENDAR. - Décret de la Convention nationale, du 4e jour de Frimaire, an second de la République française, sur l'Ère, le commencement & l'organisation de l'Année, & sur les noms des Jours & des Mois. S.l.n.d.[1793]. In-4, red half calf, long gilt title on spine (Modern binding). Decree of November 24, 1793 instituting the revolutionary calendar. [...] the republican calendar, the only one recognized by the Constitution and the Laws, is one of the institutions most likely to make people forget even the last traces of the royal, noble and priestly regime. A fold-out table shows the Concordance of the second year of the era of the Republic, with the corresponding portions of the years 1793 & 1794 of the old era. Enclosed is an excerpt from a brochure issued by the Imprimerie de la République, in which is transcribed the Arrêté du Directoire exécutif prescribing measures for the strict enforcement of the republican calendar.
