Quinto Ghermandi (Crevalcore, 1916 - San Lazzaro di Savena, 1994), Deposition of Christ. Cm. 72x60x8. Low relief in terracotta.
Unique work by the artist created on special commission of the present owner, an important private collector.
Quinto Ghermandi, a pupil of Cleto Tomba and Ercole Drei, was one of the most representative Bolognese artists of the 20th century. He was a longtime teacher and director of the Academy of Fine Arts.
He is the author of a number of modern works located in public places in Italian cities. Among them in Bologna the large fountain in front of the New Pathologies Pavilion of the Sant'Orsola Polyclinic (1971) and the sculptural group "The Family" in Piazza VIII Agosto(1955ca).
