Charles ARTUS (1897-1978). Rooster - 1926. Bronze sculpture with a rich brown-black patina on a black Belgian marble base. C. Valsuani founder. Signed on the terrace. H : 28.2 ; W : 19.7 ; D : 13 cm. Exhibitions : - Salon d'Automne 1926 (the plaster exhibited under no. 109) - Salon d'Automne 1927 (the lost-wax bronze exhibited under no. 60). Note: Our copy is an Artist's Edition of this sculpture, of which only two proofs are known to exist in this condition. Our copy is similar to the one exhibited at the second exhibition of animal artists at the Galerie Brandt in 1928 and reproduced in the November 1928 issue of the Revue "Mobilier Décorarion".
