Wilhelm Hüsgen (Barmen 1877 - 1962 Munich), lying bulldog, bronze, dark brown patina, w: 28 cm, d: 15 cm, h: 7 cm, on an irregularly shaped, flat base of green marble (h: 1.5 cm), the bulldog was both a symbol and mascot of the satirical magazine "Simplizissimus" published in Munich. Limit 260,- >> German sculptor, 1887-93 studied at the Barmen trade school, 1899 moved to Munich, collaborated on the cabaret "Elf Scharfrichter", around 1900 co-founder of the "Phalanx School for Painting and Sculpture" alongside Wassily Kandinsky, among others, where he also taught Gabriele Münter.
