Betel nut collection, India/Nepal, c. 1900, ,-figural betel nut cutter, probably India, brass, steel blade (rusty), flat hinged form in the shape of a graceful dancer, with flowers and tendrils in relief, h: 24 cm.
-lime jar, so-called "Chuna-Dani" or "Kullataya", probably India, bronze, hinged globular form, hemispherical cover inside for storing the lime, with lime residues, spatula missing, d: 5 cm.
-Lime jar, probably Tibet/Nepal, brass, richly ornamentally and vegetally engraved, partly in relief, central medallion with elephant depiction on both sides, hinged on both sides (1x with hinged mechanism), spatula attached to link chain, remains of lime inside, beautiful patina of age, signs of use, d: 15 cm. Such ritual containers were used to store slaked lime for mixing with betel nuts.
