Dim. as seen from the subject : Height. : 35 cm - Width : 35 cm Note: André Borderie is a protean contemporary French artist. A former telecommunications assistant, he decided to turn to painting in 1945. A year later, the artist discovered ceramics before tackling a new medium: tapestry. In this medium, he created over four hundred cartoons in his Senlis workshop. In 1963, he won the Grand Prix de la Tapisserie Française for Rue de la Paix, woven at the Gobelins. He has also created large-scale murals in connection with architecture, dating back to his involvement with the Espace group in the 1950s. Stylistically close to lyrical abstraction, his work is essentially centered on light.
