Attributed to the workshop of Ferdinando Pogliani (1832-1899), Fauteuil curule in carved walnut, blackened and inlaid with pear, lemon and ivory marquetry forming a rosette, friezes, stars and other plant and geometric motifs. 19th century. Height 94 cm, width 62 cm, depth 50 cm, good condition. This model takes the form of the "sedia savonarola", an Italian medieval chair. Workshop specialized in ivory-inlaid cabinetmaking in Milan, Italy. Furniture from this workshop is exhibited in several major international museums.
