[George SAND and the "Revue des deux Mondes"] - Reminder: A major contributor to the "Revue des deux Mondes", George Sand had a complicated relationship with François Buloz, its director, reproaching him for behaving like a "jeanfesse" with her and calling him a "shopkeeper", but wishing to continue her collaboration because she was aware of the Revue's important place in the world of letters, she asked her friend and businessman Emile Aucante to deal with Buloz; their epistolary relations resumed only after the publication in August 1858 of the first part of "L'Homme de Neige" / Autograph signed correspondence of 7 letters from Jean-Pierre GERDES, François Buloz's collaborator, on the letterhead of the "Revue des deux Mondes", 1858/59, to Emile AUCANTE: it is Gerdès who acts as intermediary with Buloz to ask him to come to the Revue, on July 14, 1858, "since you must come tomorrow to take back the manuscript of the 1st volume of "L'Homme de Neige" and bring another, you would oblige M. Buloz to come and see him. Buloz to come and see him, as he wishes to have a chat with you".
