PARIS 1924. "The Taking of the Olympic Oath". Exceptional bronze sculpture on a large marble base, signed Pierre de Soete (1886-1948) and dated 1922 on the terrace. A plaque with the inscription "Nous vainqueurs jurons soutenir aux olympiades de 1924 l'honneur de notre pays et la gloire du sport" is affixed to the base. This bronze was presented at the finals of the art competition at the Amsterdam Olympic Games in 1928. Total height 56 cm. Very rare. Museum piece.
