Congo or Zaire, Ntschak, circa 1926: Kuba dignitary's PAGNE (or traditional ceremonial skirt) woven in raw raffia (palm fiber) or dyed in vegetable colors (brown, yellow, rust and red) forming a rich composition of abstract embroidered motifs (some stains, old repair patch, braid missing from one end).
