First Italian translation of Raymond Sebond's apology, the most articulate and extensive chapter of Montaigne's 'Essays'. While defending the 'Natural Theology' of Sebond from accusations of heresy, Montaigne elaborates a defense of the Christian faith that diverges from traditional schemes by placing scepticism at the center, arguing that since human reason is limited and fallible, faith must be based primarily on divine revelation and not on reason.
