First edition of this work that describes the tabernacle or ciborium of St. Paul sculpted by Arnolfo di Cambio (1240-1302) in 1285.
Folio, (506 x 358mm). 11 steel-engraved plates (including title-page), 1 engraved plate in the text (minor spotting, lower margin of second title page slightly trimmed); Beautiful contemporary Roman binding in full red calf, spines and boards gilt (some wear).
