'E sia così, abolish the old and wait for the new' (Let it be so, let us abolish the old and wait for the new): in these two letters of July 1915 Puccini converses with a collaborator of the Officine Ricordi in charge of renewing his passport, not quite managing to hide his impatience. Even great masters succumb to bureaucratic difficulties.
