Painter and graphic artist, Roland Frenzel sought contact with the artistic environment of Leipzig and learned, among other things, in a self-taught way from 1956. He frequented the circle of painters Walter Bodenthal, Heinz Müller and Emil Koch. He attended classes with Gerhard Max Uhlig (1910 - 1975) and Thomas Weise. Since 1972 he worked as a freelance artist in Leipzig and belonged to its alternative cultural scene. From 1969 onwards he had a large number of solo exhibitions and participations in exhibitions. Currently his work is preserved in the Lindenau Museum in Altenburg, in the Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig and in the Kunsthalle of the Sparkasse Leipzig.
