Atiza was a graphic humorist and cartoonist who began in the magazine "Nuevo Mundo" around 1903. In 1904 he worked in "Papel de Estraza", and a little later among the collaborators of "El Cuento Semanal". He was a regular contributor to "Blanco y Negro". He also illustrated books such as the "comic novels" by Luis Taboada, "La viuda de Chaparro" and "Pescadero, a tus besugos", both from 1906. He was one of the first authors to use sandwiches for the dialogues.
