Limoges inkwell. France, late 19th century-early 20th century.
"Fruit seller".
Hand-painted ceramic.
Sealed on the base.
Measurements: 16.5 x 15.5 x 11 cm.
This inkwell takes the form of a fruit seller wearing a long white robe and a matching turban. He stands in front of three large jars, two of which are filled with fruit. The clothing and facial features of the protagonist indicate that he is an Orientalist figure from North Africa.
