Bishop stool - Medicis green
Date: 2023
Material: ceramic
Dimensions : D40 cm x H60 cm
Born in 2003, the Bishop is an iconic piece by India Mahdavi. It has been declined over the years in a variety of sizes, materials and colors; the Medici green color was specially developed as part of the 'Reenchanting the Villa Medici' program initiated by its director Sam Stourdzé, for whom India Mahdavi refurbished the Piano Nobile, including the historic rooms. The Bishop 'vert Médicis' is not for sale - it is a signed, limited edition piece.
The Bishop entered the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2017, and the Centre Pompidou in 2022.
Architect, designer and scenographer India Mahdavi lives and works in Paris; founded in 2000, her studio is distinguished by the diversity of its projects and activities.
Polyglot and polychromatic, India Mahdavi has become a benchmark, developing a singular vocabulary through each of her creations.
