Olszewski, Karl Ewald - 1884 Czernowitz / Ukraine - 1965 Munich; German painter and graphic artist (studied at the Academy in Vienna and from 1905 at the Academy in Munich under Hugo von Habermann and Ludwig von Herterich; stays in Paris and on the Fischland-Darß peninsula; participated in the exhibitions at the Munich Glaspalast; member of the Society of Arts in London from the early 1930s, was represented at the Great German Art Exhibitions 1938-44): "Wildschwäne im aufkommenden Sturm", color etching; handwritten title in pencil below the image on the left; handwritten signature "Karl Ewald Olzewsky München" on the right; plate approx. 28 x 39.5cm; somewhat browned / stained / light-stained; frame behind glass (traces of age, bumped, unopened, approx. 47.5 x 57.5cm)
