Jean Hugo (1894-1984), great-grandson of Victor Hugo, was a versatile artist renowned for his paintings evoking the gentle Languedoc way of life. A friend of Jean Cocteau, Pablo Picasso and Erik Satie, he was exhibited in museums in Philadelphia, London, Tokyo, Paris and Montpellier. In 2024, Montpellier's Musée Fabre pays tribute to him with a major exhibition. This print is a work imbued with serenity and beauty, capturing the harmony between man and nature.
