Sister of painter Pierre de Belay, Berthe Savigny was, like him, a self-taught artist. Both painter and sculptor, she came into contact with the Grande Maison earthenware factory before 1926. Eighteen subjects were born of this collaboration, mainly in earthenware, polychrome or white, but also in stoneware. The Susse foundry in Paris also published some of his terracotta works. A veritable ode to childhood, Berthe Savigny's modelling is always imbued with freshness, tenderness and great sensitivity.
