Cream-glazed earthenware subject, with recessed signature on the back. Inscribed "Tad mad evurus evidom" on the front of the base and marked "HB/ Quimper" on the inside.

Jules-Charles Le Bozec was awarded the Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1931. A member of the Ar Seiz Breur movement, Le Bozec's favorite themes included Breton subjects, either full-length or in bust form: "Méditation", "La Terre", "Sonneur de Biniou", "Jeune fille sous l'averse", etc.
