Born in Messina, Egypt forged an intimate and deep relationship with his homeland, Sicily, converting it into his artistic muse.
Letting himself be inspired by the island's warm colors, uncultivated vegetation and the savory Mediterranean Sea, Eligio Egitto has given shape and soul to numerous pictorial works. His paintings are shrewd tributes to Sicily, whose every facet he has captured, from its inhabitants, rough as the sun-warmed earth, to the juicy and sweet fruits typical of the island.
