Florentine 19th century chest.
Ebonized wood with bone inlay.
Measurements: 73 x 133 x 45 cm.
This chest of Florentine origin and Renaissance inspiration is characterized by the elegance and subtlety of the bone inlays on its front. These represent three gods of Classical Antiquity (Ceres, Aphrodite and Hermes), conceived following classical sculptural models. Each god is framed in a filleted pavilion finished in a semicircular arch. The panels that structure the front of the cabinet in three panels are decorated with intertwined flowers. The sides are embellished with baroque spouting jars and flowers. The cabinet is raised on ball feet and has a hinged lid.
