Tibetan Buddha, 19th century. "Manjushri". Patinated bronze. It presents marks of use and wear. Measurements: 22 x 14 x 10 cm. Manjushri is a bodhisattva who represents the supreme wisdom in Mahayana Buddhism. He appears here represented with a proliferation of arms carrying a sword (symbolizing the power of wisdom to cut ignorance and illusions), books and scrolls rolled up (representing knowledge and sacred teachings).
