17th/18th c. Chinese Tonkin tripod gilt bronze censer. The compressed body of lobed form with Buddhist lion-head handles. Decorated with cartouches depicting floral motifs along the sides. This type of metal ware was originally for the household decoration of wealthy staff and merchants of the East India Company. Height: 3 1/2 in x diameter: 4 in. Weight: 435 g.
