Olympic Games/ summer, 1912/ Stockholm/ Coubertin/ Pommery/ Mumm/ Château Lafitte/ Two programs for the Royal dinner on July 7, 1912. Both feature the same striking cover of the god Thor with his sacred hammer in his chariot pulled by the two goats Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjöstr. a) the list of foreign and Swedish guests, with seating plan....Four speeches will be given, with Colonel Balck opening for the King of Sweden, and Baron de Coubertin closing on behalf of the Swedish Olympic Committee. Surrounding Baron de Coubertin (place d'honneur 199) were all the world's leading personalities, as well as a number of Frenchmen, including Comte d'Arnaud, Paul Champ, de Courcel, Maurice Dezaure, Glandaz, Robert Guérin and Charles Isambert; b) Under the same cover (fold at the top, and small tear at the bottom of the center fold): the detailed menu for the July 7, 1912 dinner....Music: Strauss, Camille Saint-Saëns's "La danse de la Gipsy", and Rossini's overture to "Le Barbier de Séville". On the menu, the real tortoise claire will be cutting a path in pirogues for a platoon of sole, a squadron of veal à l'écarlate, and a squadron of carmen ducklings....The wines will really be pushing themselves: Pommery et Greno, sec; G.H.Mumm Cordon Rouge, and Château Lafitte grand vin 1893.
