Olympic Games/ Summer, 1924/ Paris/ Rectangular medal plaque, with hoop: obverse: "Le Salut", reverse: "VIII Olympiad, rings, Paris 1924...". The salute, which has its origins in antiquity, was brought up to date by the Joinville school, which was very present at these Games... It was later denatured, as we know, unfortunately, but here, it is well and truly classic... Gilded metal. The French team impressed at the opening of the 1920 Games, with this beautiful salute to the King of the Belgians. BE.
